Abstract

This study aims to determine the Analysis of Community Participation in Infrastructure Development in Madras Hulu Village, Medan Polonia District. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. Data were collected using interview and documentation techniques to 10 (ten) informants. Therefore, in order to obtain field data, researchers must go directly to the field to be able to directly observe the orders and the community being studied. The results of the study indicate that community participation is quite good, marked by active cooperation between the village government, including the village head and staff, with the community in deliberations and mutual cooperation activities. However, there are factors such as the lack of government attention in supporting these activities and the busyness of the community in their work which are factors that reduce the enthusiasm of community participation. However, within these factors there are also supporting factors for the community such as economy, education, and community awareness in participating. This study suggests the need for appropriate scheduling of mutual cooperation activities and an increase in the role of the government to motivate the community so that infrastructure development can be more optimal and sustainable.
