Membangun Keunggulan Rantai Nilai Tanaman Jambu Biji bagi Kehidupan Ekonomi Kelompok Tani Desa Durin Jangak Kecamatan Pancurbatu Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

The management of guava farming to develop competitive advantage from a business perspective, thereby improving the economic well-being of farmers, can be achieved through the implementation of value chain theory. The methods employed included observation, training, and focus group discussions. The participants consisted of 30 members of the Durin Jangak Village Farmers’ Group, comprising 25 farmers and 5 government officials from Durin Jangak Village.

The activities were conducted by a community service team consisting of lecturers and students. The program involved motivational presentations and discussions on the implementation of strategic management theory and various guidelines for guava farming. Efforts to develop the competitive advantage of guava farming in the target area included several aspects, namely selecting appropriate cultivation locations, determining the optimal planting and harvesting periods, selecting suppliers and buyers, promoting innovation and the development of appropriate technologies, and strengthening cooperation and expanding business networks.
