PELESTARIAN NILAI GOTONG ROYONG DALAM KOMUNITAS NELAYAN SEBAGAI BENTUK IMPLEMENTASI NILAI PANCASILA
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the preservation of gotong royong values within a fishing community as a form of implementing Pancasila values in Secanggang Village. Secanggang Village is an area where the majority of residents work as river fishermen whose fishing activities extend from the river to the estuary leading to the sea. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological-oriented ethnographic design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 16 informants consisting of active fishermen, traditional leaders, religious leaders, fishermen group leaders, and village officials, as well as through participant observation and community documentation. The findings indicate that gotong royong values are still preserved and practiced in various aspects of fishermen’s lives, including collective boat and fishing gear repairs, mechanisms for sharing fishing yields, collective responses to emergency situations, and community deliberation. These practices reflect the implementation of Pancasila values, namely belief in God, humanity, unity, democracy through deliberation, and social justice
