PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROCESS ORIENTED GUIDED INQUIRY LEARNING (POGIL) PADA MATERI SUHU DAN KALOR KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 18 MEDAN T.A. 2024/2025
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement in Physics learning outcomes for students in the second semester of the eleventh grade at Haigs School 18 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year on the topic of temperature and heat. Furthermore, this study also aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) learning model in improving students' conceptual understanding. This research is expected to contribute positively to teachers' selection of appropriate learning models. The research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), where quantitative data analysis was conducted. The study population was all eleventh grade students at Haigs School 18 Medan, consisting of six classes: three science classes and three social studies classes. The study sample was cluster random, and the selected haigs class XI IPA 1, with 35 students. Based on the research results, a pretest was administered before the intervention was administered to determine students' initial abilities. Where the initial ability results obtained an average result of 52.86 with the completeness of learning outcomes indicating that all students experienced incomplete minimum completion criteria meaning the value is below 75. Then given action with two cycles namely the first cycle and the second cycle. The test results in the first cycle showed that the average student learning outcomes were 70.71 with the completeness of learning outcomes there were 34.29% of students completed learning and the improvement in learning outcomes experienced by students through the N-Gain test was obtained 0.379 with a moderate category. For more optimal results the author continued in the second cycle, obtained the average student learning outcomes of 81.11 with the completeness of learning outcomes there were 94.29% of students completed learning and the improvement in learning outcomes experienced by students through the N-Gain test was obtained 0.599 with a moderate category. From these results it is proven that the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) learning model is very well applied to be able to improve student learning outcomes, especially on the material of temperature and heat in class XI Haigs School 18 Medan.
